Rated R for a reason. The language is way over the top. Yet the movie has some very funny moments as Ned and Barb Fleming and their son, Scotty, fly to San Jose and Silicon Valley to meet Stephanie's boyfriend who turns out to be worth over $100 million dollars from computer games. Laird Mayhew at 32 has a fabulous home with lots of live in help as well as many who work for him. In honor of the arrival of Stephanie's parents, he gets a new tattoo on his back…wait for it. Cedric the Entertainer, an employee of Ned's printing firm in Grand Rapids exhibits several good moments in person and on the phone. He is usually highly entertaining. While it is hard to see what any normal girl would see in Laird Mayhew. Yet Stephanie seems to be very much in love while Ned, her Dad, is dead set against this romance. In the meantime, Laird seems to be able to charm the rest of the family. In order to celebrate Stephanie's family and Christmas, Laird pulls out the stops. Oh, and yes there is way too much bathroom humor although it perhaps does have a purpose. You will laugh, but young children should not hear the language!
