Leslie Mann, wife of Judd Apatow, the director, and Paul Rudd play Debbie and Pete both of whom are turning 40 right before Christmas. Money is a problem, their two daughters are difficult and most of all, both of them are extremely irritating! Albert Brooks plays Pete's father who is married with 3 toddlers in tow and is constantly asking for money from Pete who is struggling with his record production company. Debbie has a small dress shop staffed by two crazies one of whom has probably stolen $12,000. Her father is John Lithgow whom she has only seen a few times since she was 8 years old. He too is married with young children and seems totally unconnected with Debbie's family. The comedy is uneven and the jokes juvenile. A few cute moments, but honestly I thought it would never end.
