More interesting than I expected as Ryder(John Travolta) takes a New York subway hostage and will only negotiate with a recently demoted manager in the transit office named Walter Garber, played by Denzel Washington. Yes, it is violent but not particularly gory. Travolta is especially good at evil and we slowly learn something about his background as the mayor, James Gandolfini, figures out what he is really up to. Not for kids!
