Love Pierce Brosnan who also produced this film; however, the screenplay seems lacking and bounces around to the point where you really only care because a child is involved and Pierce Brosnan is handsome. Brosnan plays a Cambridge Poetry profession and son of a distinguished professor, now retired and played by Malcolm McDowall, who find his American girlfriend is pregnant. He realizes his philandering father has had four wives and still fooled around whenever he could. So he decides to move to California with his girlfriend and start a family. Fast forward several years and Brosnan is trying to explain to the little boy, Jake, how he screwed things up. His sister in law played by Salma Hayek makes appearances. Despite Hayek and Jessica Alba, I felt no "connection" between Brosnan's character and either of the women. See it but do not expect too much. I must say regardless, I always enjoy seeing Pierce Brosnan on Screen.
