Chief Chick Comments

A movie about sex which makes it boring! Jake originally meets Lainey at Columbia University where they become each other's first sexual partner. Many years later they meet at a sex addict's group and become platonic friends while they continue with their own issues with others. Jason Sudeikis is cute and Alison Brie seems a qualified actress who is also fairly attractive. The story just doesn't get you motivated to root for them. The discussions about sex are just gross. Maybe someone will find them entertaining but I doubt it. There is no romantic feeling here and I just could not wait until it is over. I can see how this movie could have been improved with a better screenplay. As usual Manhattan is a good backdrop. That Sudeikis plays a recently wealthy web entrepreneur who falls for his boss played by Amanda Peet, is just too easy. Aren't there any hardships for these people? At one point Lainey takes the MCATs and gets admitted to Michigan's Med School. Really? See it later.
