Because the first movie, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, was so good entertaining, you may be disappointed with The Second Exotic Marigold Hotel. We see Sonny, the owner, and Maggie Smith driving down Route 66 in California to a meeting with investors in hopes of financing the second hotel since the first is full and Sonny has dreams including his upcoming wedding in a few weeks. The cast of characters is marvelous and Richard Gere makes an appearance as an author or hotel inspector…hard to know. Romances? Yes nos and maybes. Love the character; not so much the story.
