Chief Chick Comments

Directed by Oliver Stone, this movie is very violent. It is told as a flashback by O (for Ophelia) who loves both Chon and Ben, the owners of the pot business in Laguna Beach California. They are all in love. Salma Hayek is the leader of the drug cartel from Mexico who wants to "partner" with the boys and move into California. Normally, I would have only given this movie 2 Chicks, but with women taking unusual roles-as the head of the cartel, Hayek, and as the lover of both men, Lively, it gets pushed up to 3 Chicks. It is certainly reminiscent of No Country For Old Men in its violence and bloodshed. The R rating is justified about every way you can imagine. It mostly held my interest even though it is quite long.
