Disturbing yet illuminating story of Joy who lives with her 5 year old son, Jack, in a shed prison called "Room" where she has been kept by her kidnapper of 7 years before. Brie Larson is clearly deserving of all of her nominations and wins for this movie nominated for Best Film by the Oscar's as well as Larson for best actress. In addition it is nominated for best director and best screenplay. I dreaded staying put for 2 hours viewing a movie on a topic that is clearly difficult; yet, I felt drawn in by the story. Most enlightening was the difficulties and challenges after the two were rescued and returned home. This is a special movie. See it.
