Harrison Ford plays a bulldog policeman who comes to realize that his wife should not have been on the plane which crashed just outside Washington DC. He begins to believe that she was having an affair and eventually locates and approaches Kristin Scott Thomas who survives her husband supposedly heading to New York City. Their difficult relationship evolves with some question about the future at the end of the movie
