Poirot's doctor declares Poirot exhausted and orders a two week vacation. So Poirot and Hastings head to the seashore. While staying at the Grand Metropolitan, they meet the producer of a new play featuring some fabulously valuable pearls worn by the lead actress who is also the producer's wife. Of course, a jewel robbery interrupts Poirot's holiday but perhaps that is not such a bad thing...
