Half of our country prays for the health of Ruth Bader Ginsburg. This movie demonstrates some of the reasons why. The film begins with Ruth as a first-year Harvard Law student while her husband, Martin, is a second-year Harvard Law student. They already have a child, Jane, who is an infant. Sam Waterston plays the dean of the Harvard Law School who pushed to admit women (there are nine in Ruth's class), but seems unwilling to acknowledge that they should actually be there. Marty, played by Armie Hammer, is the husband we all would want in his support for Ruth while pursuing his own prominence in the field of tax law. When Marty falls ill, Ruth covers both their classes. Unable to get a job with a law firm, Ruth begins teaching at Rutgers, and with Marty's help finds a case of a man denied a tax deduction "On the Basis of Sex". Loved the movie!
