This tragedy is very long and very tough to take. The acting was fabulous even though it is hard to understand the social mores of Irish country society 125 years ago. My main criticism besides the length is that I feel Liv Ullman, the screenwriter and director, failed to show us why Miss Julie herself was so brazen yet so cowardly.
