This movie is a nice surprise. Based on the actual case Loving vs Commonwealth of Virginia, the story weaves through ten years of the lives Richard and Mildred Loving, an interracial couple who marry and have 3 children but are convicted of being in violation of the Commonwealth's interrancial prohibitions. Richard is not particularly talkative often reticent to action or speech. Mildred is a loving partner raising their children first in Washington DC where they must flee and later in Virginia. While, it occured to me the pace of the movie is a bit slow, I realize it is just right for a story which takes 10 years for fruition. Ruth Negga was nominated for an Oscar for best supporting actress, and I think Edgerton should have been nominated as well for his performance.
