Lightweight but still cute. Early role for Marilyn Monroe as one of the tenants to Jim and Connie Scott's apartment house in New York after World War II. Also, the first time I have seen Jack Paar in a movie role as the lawyer friend, Ed, who decides to woo Bobbie(played by Monroe). William Lundigan who is a real hunk has returned from Paris to return to his wife and resuming his career as a writer. Connie has used their savings to buy an apartment house since rentals were impossible to find. Of course, the house has lots of problems including Charley who is a swindler of old, rich widows and who is also romancing the poor Eadie, a widow who lives in the building. Charley's philosophy is unusual and reminded me of the interesting philosophy of Liza Doolittle's father in My Fair Lady. Charley says that he left each widow with lots of their money and for a time gave them a life they dreamed of. He also states thta "I take from one and invest the money in another one". Anyway, fluffy but fairly entertaining.
