Seeing the poverty of India on film is often difficult, yet the spirit of the people no matter how poor seems to enliven the scene. In this true story, Saroo is a 6 year old who scratches out a living with his older brother for his mother and sisters. One day after begging his brother to go to an overnight job, Saroo accidentally ends up on an empty train which ends up in Calcutta where Saroo does not speak the language is is too young to explain from where he has come. After months, he ends up in an orphanage and eventually is adopted by Sue and John in Tasmania, Australia. As a twenty something, he begins to see flashbacks of his childhood and cannot escape a yearning to find the Mother and brother he lost 25 years ago. Bring a small hanky!
