Oh good grief, another musical with truly forgettable songs! This movie goes on forever. Emily Blunt was quite good as well as the lesser known actors. Anna Kendrick's voice gave me a headache. No it isn't that bad, but the casting was weak except for the Baker(played by James Corden) and his wife (Emily Blunt) and Jack ( Daniel Huttlestone). Meryl Streep is pretty good but any nominations for her will be because she is Meryl Streep. This movie based on the stage musical of many years ago weaves 4 fairy tales into an overarching story of a Baker and his wife who want a baby but find out they cannot have one because of a curse from the witch next door(Meryl Streep). However, if they locate four items from well known fairy tales in the woods, and give them to the witch, the curse will be lifted. Just when you think it is over, it is not! A few too many deaths from my point of view and an unconventional ending. Oh well, two hours of my life which I will not ever get back!

I thought there were funny scenes with the Prince Brothers. Who knew Chris Pine could sing? Or Emily Blunt? I like Anna Kendrick in most everything. I was disappointed we didn't get to see the Cinderella ball. I never saw the stage play and was disappointed they didn't show many scenes outside of the woods. Sondheim has many great musicals to his credit. He even wrote the lyrics to West Side Story. This one however is not my favorite.
