Chief Chick Comments

While true to the books, this sequel is not up to the original-perhaps because now it seems not so original. The costuming for Katniss and the special effects are still interesting as are some unexpected story twists. I felt great disappointment at the end which basically sets us up for sequels 3 and 4, both currently in production. Jennifer Lawrence is luminous and Woody Harrelson and Elizabeth Banks and even Stanley Tucci a bit more likable in their characters. Yes Donald Sutherland as President Snow is still devious and nasty. Philip Seymore Hoffman joins the cast as the Game Maker. A bit long and anticlimactic but worth a trip to the theater.

I was scared by the events during the Hunger Games.The special effects were very good. Also there was more romance between Catnis and Peeta. He was a stronger character this sequel. Woody Harrelson is always great and Phillip Seymore Hoffman is a great new cast member.
