Jimmy Stewart said this was one of his favorite parts both on stage on Broadway as well as in this classic film. Josephine Hall who plays his sister Vita Louise Simmons won an Oscar for best supporting actress. Elwood is the nicest guy in town, but seems to embarass his sister and niece because of Harvey…Harvey is a very tall white rabbit who is Elwood's best friend. They go everywhere together, out to eat, to the local tavern, for walks, to social events…But, of course, no one else can see Harvey. Finally, Vita Louise decides she must have Elwood committed to a mental facility. But that turns out to be much, much harder than expected. If you have never seen this film, you must. Jimmy Stewart…you gotta love him!
