Green Slime CHECK, Paranormal Apparatus CHECK, SNL cast members CHECK. Funny but a bit disappointing even though we know nothing can match the original. Melissa McCarthy is funny, Kristin Wiig is subtley funny, Leslie Jones is funny but better in her TV ads, and Kate McKinnon pretty hilarious as the crazy engineer. You can spot, if you are good, stars from the original Ghostbusters including Bill Murray, Dan Aykroid, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver, and Annie Potts. The story, still in Manhattan, is new and keeps your interest for the first half or so before it drifts a bit. Andy Garcia plays New York's mayor who wants to keep all the paranormal activity quiet so as not to scare the city. Cecily Strong, also from SNL plays his assistant mayor. No romance whatsoever in this one except Chris Hemsworth as the team's receptionist catches Erin's (Kristen Wiig) eye…and he does look really good even though his character is not too bright. The twentysomething gals seemed to really love the movie…the rest of the audience just did not get involved although there certainly were a few good laughs. See it, just do not expect too much.
