Chief Chick Comments
Yet another adaption of the Jane Austen classic, Emma. Except for Bill Nighy and Rupert Graves, you may not recognize any of the actors. The director, Autumn de Wilde is, in fact, a woman and has done an excellent job in many ways. While I prefer the 1996 version with Gweneth Paltrow, the scenery and costumes, again, are equisite. I think the actors probably look much more like actual English gentry in the 19th century rather than out of Hollywood, never-the-less the story continues to amuse. The homes, scenery, architecture are lovely. Close call on "take a date". If your guy likes Jane Austen, go ahead and take him!
