Easy Virtue, a play now movie based on Noel Coward's play of the same name, is a delight. Colin Firth actually manages to look scruffy...Can you believe it? Ben Barnes is the son who arrives at the family estate with a new wife who is glamorous, a widow and older. Victoria, John's mother, is horrified and played brilliantly by Kristin Scott Thomas. She is a bitter woman who has had to run the family estate after her husband, known only as Mr Whittaker arrives home very late from The Great War in 1917. He seems to do nothing except eat dinner and work on his motorcycle. The pull of the country and the enmity of his family begin to fracture his new marriage. Yet Larita, his new wife, continues to fight for him.
