This touching, complex French story, perhaps a love story, is dark and moving. There are many layers and I suspect over time one better understands the nuances of this story. Emmanuelle Béart is very beautiful and the music beautiful, difficult and haunting. The following year, the two stars actually wed-Auteuil and Béart. French with subtitles
