charmingmovie...I was sorry when it was over. English retirees go to India to try to live more reasonably and, in theory, more luxuriously than they could at home. As usual Judi Dench gives a lovely performance as does Bill Nighy, Penelope Wilton, Maggie Smith, and Dev Patel (star of Slumdog Millionaire). Of course, the hotel turns out to be run down, but the young owner, played by Dev, is determined and optimistic. The aromas and exotic sights of India lure most but not all of the retirees into finding something they did not know they were looking for
