I saw this movie on my birthday and will never forget. When my brothers saw the movie in a theater, they thought Intermission" meant The End and left (they were quite young). Judah Ben-Hur is a rich Jewish Prince in Jerusalem which is occupied as is most of the civilized world by The Roman Empire. Heston looks magnificent and the strength he projects is necessary as he is betrayed and ends up a slave trying to survive. Warning, this movie is really long-about 3 1/2 hours long-and you may have to watch in segments! Won 11 Academy Awards. An all time classic!
