Female Forensic Psychiatrist interviews patient with multiple personalities. She, however, does not believe in multiple personalities and sets about proving that the patient, David Bernburg, in fact is coping with his life in this fashion.

Chief Chick Comments

Most of this movie is interesting as Dr Cara Harding (Julianne Moore) scientifically investigates the various theoretical lives of her patient. Her father, also a psychiatrist, keeps urging her on. It is reasoned and interesting until late in the movie when the supernatural takes over and seems to make little sense as Dr Harding tries to protect those she loves as she discovers that the patient adopts the personalities of those who have been murdered. The wacky hill people, especially The Granny who purportedly is over 100 years old, seem to take this movie off the rails. Never the less, an interesting movie even if the ending is very very wierd.
