There is little suspense to this telling of the story of 33 miners trapped deep underground in 2010 in a copper-gold mine in Chile, as most movie goers will know the ending. We do see just how dangerous it is to be working in a mine so deep underground. The scenes of the cave-in are truly remarkable, as is the fact that anyone survived. Antonio Banderas is very good as the miner who emerges as the leader that keeps the group together and focus on surviving. Above ground, the families of the miners demand answers about the fate of their loved ones and set up camp outside the mine when there are no answers. But at a certain point the movie just becomes an exercise in waiting for the ending that you know is coming.
