Christopher Lee is much too old to play a romantic Holmes in this made for TV 1991 version. Morgan Fairchild is still very pretty but really mismatched for the ancient Holmes. At 3 hours, the story drags a bit as we see if Holmes can recover, for the British government, a remote control device which can detonate a bomb. The Russians, a group of revolutions and the British are all after it. Holmes runs across "The Woman" aka Irene Adler with whom he has been before. She is now a widow and back at singing in the Opera to much acclaim. How she is involved is somewhat of a mystery, but Holmes and Watson are still on the case…Sorry the trailer is in German but you will get the idea!
