Fascinating and nostalgic look at the struggle within the Washington Post on whether to print the Pentagon Papers which detail 30 years of lies by the US Government. Kay Graham is torn between her lawyers and the investment bankers (the coompany has just gone public) and the reporters and her editor, Ben Bradlee( also famous for backing the coverage of Watergate). I forgot that Meryl Streep was not actually Katharine Graham, forced by the suicide of her husband to take over the help of her Father's newspaper at a time when women were hardly respected in the business world. I think Tom Hanks had Bradlee's voice down pat. We see Bradlee's second wife, Toni (his third was Sally Quinn) as the reporters review and write the initial cover story while knowing that the Courts may hold the paper and Mrs. Graham in contempt as the New York Times had already been stopped by an injunction. Ultimately, this goes to the Supreme Court. Loved the movie; was sorry when it was over. But wait….they are only a year or two from Watergate!

We also hated for it to end. Great performances by Hanks and Streep and it refreshed my memory about that whole incident. Of course the audience in the theater applauded when Graham stood up to her 'advisors.'
