Colin Firth…Need I say more?……Well, ok I will say more. Any movie with Colin Firth gets a good look from me. This secret agent thriller is good and much like the James Bond 007 movies. The Kingsmen are super secret agents created after World War I by rich Brits whose heirs and sons were killed in the War. Instead, they gave their money to this secret organization in order to save the world from whatever threatens it. Well, there are different views on what threatens the earth. Samuel L Jackson plays Valentine a billionaire tech wizard who has decided to save the world from global warming in a ruthless way. Celebrities and Famous Statesmen and women begin disappearing. In the meantime, one of the Kingsmen is killed and 9 are recruited to vie for the empty spot of "Lancelot". One put forward by Colin Firth, aka Galahad, is Eggsy whose father had been a Kingsman and who was killed saving Galahad's life. Eggsy is basically a juvenille delinquent but with intelligence and skills. He joins the 9 vying for the one spot while Samuel L Jackson and his assistant, who has sharpened steel artificial legs, move forward with their plan. My favorite part of the movie? When Colin Firth takes Eggsy to the Country Headquarters of The Kingsmen and…it is shown to be the same castle used as Pemberly in Pride and Prejudice when Firth played Mr Darcy! By the Way, the final shot is gratuitous teenage boy stuff. Really unnecessary!
