One of the best movies of the year. Redmayne may be headed for another Academy Award. Wegener, a noted Danish landscape artist, loves his beautiful wife Gerde but realizes one day while posing for her when her model is late, that there is someone else inside. Over time this happily married man becomes Lili a personification of the person he believes he should be. His wife, Gerde, is surprisingly supportive in 1926 when the idea of a transgender person had almost never been broached. The beautiful landscapes and fabulous images of the skylines of Copenhagen and Paris transport you to the times and places of Wegener's life. Many men may find this movie uncomfortable, but those who truly appreciate an excellent "film" will see it as such. My brother thought it was, perhaps, the best movie of the year. I believe Vikander who plays Gerde should also be nominated during awards season.

Probably the best movie I've seen this year, mostly because of the honesty and darn good acting. I would be willing to bet that Eddie Redmayne wins Best Actor for the Golden Globes, at least, but Alicia Vikander really impressed me (especially since I'm not that familiar with her). Not a movie for everyone, although I wish everyone would see it. I did not look at my watch one time during this viewing. And was mesmerized by the scenery of 'the times.'
