If you look for trouble hard enough…you will find it. Tilda Swinton plays Marianne Lane, a rock star, who is recuperating on and Island in the Mediterranean with her lover, Paul, when her former producer/lover Harry arrives for an unannounced visit with his daughter, Penelope, played by Dakota Johnson. Harry still loves Marianne and hates the quiet domestic life Paul and Marianne seem to have while his daughter Penelope who says she is 22 is a handful after having tracked down her father in the last year. The remote home on the island is the scene for much of, but not all of, the action. Inhibitions seem not to exist for Harry or Penelope for that matter. It does seem that Dakota Johnson has become the "go to" actress for nude scenes. I am not convinced of her talent to actually act. As a viewer you probably will not like either character, Harry or Penelope. The movie lasts a bit too long but picks up at the end. Beautifully filmed and acted, it is worth seeing even if you disagree with the ending and its possible meaning.

I thought this movie was very good, primarily because I could not predict what was going to happen. Yes, none of the characters were totally likable and some were quite unlikable. But it held my interest and I thought it was well acted by all. My husband and I continue to talk about it which means it must have had some impact!
