Often voted one of the favorite movies of all time, this is the first in George Lucas's series. Luke Skywalker, of whom we learn much more in future films, teams with Han Solo, played by Harrison Ford in his first BIG role to rescue Princess Leia, played by Carrie Fisher, and save the Universe from the evil Empire. The movies which follow fill out the story even more. While I could generally care less about the series later, this movie and The Empire Strikes Back are wonderul. Whole industries are built around this franchise!
